At a recent Capitol Hill event, several leaders of standards development organizations, applauded the ongoing development of standards for Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs).

It is critical to develop standards and best practices that advance PPPs, especially in the infrastructure sector. An important overlooked element of standards development is the adoption of resilience best practices as well.
There are organizations that have made the development of standards their mission. They include the International Public-Private Partnership Resilience Center (IPPPRC) in New Orleans (www.ippprc.com) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe’s (UNECE) PPP Center of Excellence.
It is important that both the public and private sector seek collaborative ways to advance PPP standards and best practices.
